Is Cosmetic Packaging Different For Organic Products?

Health is true wealth; we have come to understand this as a fact and are fast becoming more health conscious. More people are adopting a healthier lifestyle free of chemicals and toxins. The word "organic" refers to things that fit into the class of chemical compounds that have a carbon basis; it can also refers to a lifestyle free of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides or hormones, like organic fruits or vegetables. Many people have started acquiring organic products after realizing their immense benefits.

The latest trends indicate an organic revolution in the cosmetics sector making organic beauty products the future of the cosmetics industry. As this industry has witnessed dramatic growth over the past few years, there is bound to be a huge surge in demand for organic cosmetics in the near future. Signs of this trend have already become evident.

People prefer organic cosmetic products that are safe andharmless. There have been major health risks' that have surfaced because of the chemicals present in many products today.. Harmful chemicals can be due to manufacturing in places outside the U.S. because of the high cost of goods. Chemicals may include coal tar, lead, mercury, talc, liquid paraffin, butyl acetate, etc. These chemicals are found to cause allergic reactions in many people.
Packaging of cosmetic products should be done with precision as there are standards that have been set by both consumers and certification agencies. In the case of organic packaging, there are two things that need to be kept in mind:

Natural Packaging: Since organic equates to natural, consumers generally anticipate that the packaging materials should be as natural as possible. Recyclable, recycled and non-polluting materials are preferred for both primary and secondary packaging.

 
Protective Packaging: Organic packaging should be designed to contribute to a longer shelf life for cosmetics as these products normally do not contain any kind of chemicals and are free from synthetic preservatives that protect products from contamination.
